On 29 March, the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, expressed grave concern about recent attacks on Israel by Yemeni Houthis and their growing involvement in wider regional tensions.

According to Grundberg, these steps threaten to drag Yemen deeper into conflict, complicate efforts to find a political solution to the crisis, and worsen the country's already difficult economic situation. He also warned that it could prolong the suffering of the civilian population.

He stressed that neither side has the right to drag Yemen into a wider war. In this context, he called on all actors to exercise maximum restraint and to immediately halt further military operations.

At the same time, Hans Grundberg said he was in contact with all key Yemeni, regional and international partners. He made a special appeal to the Houthis, who he urged to support the calming of the situation through diplomatic steps and to contribute to limiting further escalation of the conflict.
