On Saturday, an event called "Echoes of Peace" was held in Mexico City, emphasizing the need to remember the great sacrifices made during World War II against fascism and calling for a global effort to maintain peace.

The event, co-organized by the Chinese Embassy in Mexico and China Media Group (CMG), was attended by over 150 guests from various sectors in Mexico, including politics, media, culture, and think tanks.

In a video message to the event, Shen Haixiong, President of CMG, noted that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and World War II against fascism. Eighty years ago, China and forces for justice stood side-by-side in defeating fascism. Today, we are honored to invite international friends to commemorate these years of shared struggle.

He added that CMG is ready to deepen cooperation with global partners and integrate "ideas, arts, and technologies" to build a media platform for news reporting, information exchange, and resource sharing. The goal is to amplify China's voice against hegemony, for justice and equality, while also promoting unity in the face of challenges and cooperation for common development.

During the event, several guests participated in in-depth discussions on various topics, including the significance of commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II against fascism, the contributions of countries in the Global South to building a new international order, youth exchange between Mexico and China, and building a community of shared future for China and Latin America.
