BERLIN, July 26. At least one person was killed and 15 were injured when a car drove into a crowd in the Tiergarten Park area in central Berlin, according to police reports cited by N-tv.
“It appears that the car entered Tiergarten Park and hit several people, injuring them,” police said. “We are actively searching for suspects.” A police helicopter is also involved in the operation. The Focus-online publication reports 14 victims.
The incident occurred around 22:00 local time (20:00 GMT). The driver was speeding through Tiergarten in a "small white van." While attempting to flee, the driver collided with another vehicle. He then exited the car and continued running on foot.
