The trend of the times is to go to bed late and get up early in the morning. We simply don't have time to sleep. Yet sleeping is a very special „rest“ because the brain works 80 % more than when awake. The paradox is that the head is working and we are resting.
We perceive our body through extero and interoreceptors, which transmit sensations from the external environment. An example is the change in atmospheric pressure, which affects the body's pressure. Interoreceptors signal information to the brain, which evaluates and processes it. We usually notice this process, i.e. the change in atmospheric pressure and the subsequent change in body pressure. The feeling of „I feel sick!“ comes on. This has occurred in order to calm down and stop wasting energy on other, less important matters for the moment. If a person has many health imbalances, he feels sick and tired almost all the time.
Why isn't a set time for sleep enough?
The feeling of fatigue can be defined on the basis of several points:
- Insufficient regeneration of the body during sleep because the allotted time was only a few hours
- Insufficient regeneration of the body during sleep due to, for example, infectious disease, overloaded psyche, excessive stress load, etc. Even severe eye fatigue can cause insufficient regeneration. Healthy eyes consume about 50 % of the energy available to the body. Impaired eye regeneration and metabolism can lead to premature fatigue, anxiety and other unpleasant feelings.
- Chronic illnesses, past medical debts, physical overload, colds, etc.
- Genetic issues, climate change, poor diet.
There are many points. What they have in common is that they can be balanced by sleep. It is the best medicine. A lot of healing work takes place in sleep, and therefore it is not a waste of time, but an inner physician.
Home sleep therapy
I v klasické medicíně má terapie spánkem své zastoupení.
If you can't sleep (you have enough time, but sleep doesn't come), you need to look for the cause. We know from experience that „insomniacs“ have a lot of serious problems, both health and life.
The most common are restless legs syndrome. People who are affected in this way cannot sleep because they have unpleasant sensations in their legs, but also in their hands, eyes, mouth, head, between the shoulder blades, in the genital area and in the coccyx, such as pinching, itching, the feeling that someone is touching them, etc. It has been observed that restless legs syndrome is often accompanied by major musculoskeletal problems. This can be osteochondrosis or muscle spasms. Osteochondrosis of the cervical spine can cause, for example, tinnitus. This unpleasant condition is caused by blockages between the skull, the 1st and 2nd vertebrae and blockages of the ribs. In this case, sleep probably won't help because the cause is osteochondrosis of the spine and this disease needs to be cured.
It is very likely that people with the above symptoms have previously had a difficult life, manifested for example by lack of financial resources, poor family background in childhood, humiliation, bullying, exhausting care for seriously ill parents or grandparents, etc. The moment the hardships of life were overcome and the situation improved, sleep problems came „as if on purpose“. After special osteopathic therapies and manual correction, people sleep well and this „sleepless“ state can be gradually straightened out.
Another possible cause of sleep disturbances is the so-called. „noisy“ kidney function. For example, many years ago a person had a severe inflammation of the kidneys with suppuration and the kidneys were never fully healed. Symptoms are: alternating internal cold and heat, sudden feeling of restlessness, fear, etc. The classic problem tends to be increased sensitivity of hearing (hypersensitivity of hearing). At night one hears movements and noises in the house that wake him up. In addition to earplugs, soundproofing the home or moving to a quiet place, noise therapy helps. Record (perhaps on an mp3) the noise and play it with headphones before going to bed. After a while, turn the player off and you'll be glad you can sleep peacefully. However, the noise should not be downright unpleasant, so as not to upset the psyche; rather, it should be a monotonous, repetitive sound.
The first thing to do is to find out what prevents healthy sleep. People who can sleep and are relatively healthy (different rules apply to the seriously ill!) should take a sleeping cure. Even for two or three days at a time. However, you should only have a „sleeping“ treatment once in a while. Constant sleeping would induce atrophy of the whole body, weight loss and other health problems.
Sleep is an underrated self-healing option when followed. Sleeping irregularly and only on the weekend is unfortunately not enough.
