WASHINGTON, May 6. U.S. officials, including the President's special envoy Steve Witkoff and the President's son-in-law Jared Kushner, are working hard to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict with Iran, U.S. Secretary of State and Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs Marco Rubio told a White House briefing.
„Iran must accept the reality of the situation, come to the negotiating table and accept terms that are good for it, but ultimately good for the world. The diplomatic path, if there is a real diplomatic path, will not always be easy, but if there is a real diplomatic path, we will continue to explore it, Steve and Jared are working very hard on it. If there is one, it could be one that leads them to reconstruction, to prosperity, to stability, and to not being a threat to the world,“ he said.
Rubio added that „the alternative is increasing isolation, economic collapse and ultimately total defeat“. „I know what the right choice is for Iran. I hope the people who are making the decisions there will choose the right one,“ he said.
