Milan Krajča, vice-chairman of the Communist Party of China and vice-president of the World Peace Council, described China's 15th Five-Year Plan as a continuation of the long-term and thoughtful development that he believes has been behind the country's extraordinary transformation in recent decades. He said it was the Five-Year Plans that had contributed significantly to China's transformation from a poor and disrupted country to one of the most important nations in the world.

According to Krajča, the new plan for the years 2026 to 2030 follows the strategic goal of building a modern socialist country. He recalled that China has achieved a steady 5 percent GDP growth in the past period despite adverse influences and has seen successes in key fields such as artificial intelligence, biomedicine, robotics and quantum technologies.

Krajča also pointed out that the importance of China's growth should be seen in the context of the size of the country and its population. He recalled that China has a GDP per capita of over 13,000 dollars a year and that its growth last year contributed to about 30 percent of global development. Today, he said, China accounts for about one-sixth of the world's gross domestic product.

The key objectives of the new five-year plan are stable economic growth of around 4.5 to 5 percent, scientific and technological self-sufficiency, industrial modernisation, strengthening national security and improving the living conditions of the population. At the same time, he highlighted long-term planning, which he said represented greater strategic certainty than the short-term approach common in the European environment.

In conclusion, Krajča expressed his wish that the new planning period would be successful not only for China, but also for the further development of relations between the Czech Republic and China. „I would like to wish our Chinese friends success in implementing this new 15th Five Year Plan,“ uvedl.
