TEHRAN - On April 9 local time, Iranian state television broadcast a statement by Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei in which he stressed that Iran is not seeking war, but neither will it give up its rights. Moztaba's latest statement was released against the backdrop of the 40th day of the assassination of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The statement assessed Khamenei's life and stressed that Iran's victory in the war was due to the unity of the government, the army and the people.
The statement clearly outlined three proposals:
First, Iran will definitely seek „war reparations“ from the aggressors and seek compensation for the „blood debts of the martyrs“.
Second, Iran's management of the Strait of Hormuz will be moved to a „new phase“.
Third, Iran will never give up its legitimate rights and will consider all „resistance fronts“ in the region as a united whole.
The statement also called on Iran's southern neighbours in the Persian Gulf (the Gulf Arab states) to take the „right side“ and said Iran would show goodwill to these countries, but only if they distanced themselves from „arrogant hegemons“.
