The Iranian Navy closely monitors all U.S. military activities in the region. On 12 April, its commander reacted sharply to the words of US President Donald Trump, who hinted at the possibility of closing the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the Iranian side, such allegations „utterly absurd and ridiculous“, especially in the context of what she described as „a catastrophic defeat in war“.
On the same day, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps issued an official statement stressing that the Strait of Hormuz remains under their control and remains open to non-military vessels that abide by the established rules. At the same time, however, there was a clear warning: any attempt by military vessels to approach this strategic area will be considered a violation of the ceasefire and will provoke a firm and decisive response.
