BUDAPEST - Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has backed his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orbán ahead of Sunday's parliamentary elections in Hungary. On Saturday, he wished him to fulfil his political goals in the elections.
Orbán has been Hungary's prime minister since 2010. The current election is his biggest challenge in years, as his national-conservative Fidesz party is facing defeat by the centre-right Tisza movement, according to polls.
Fico is one of Orbán's allies, for example they share a friendly attitude towards Russia. „In my long political career, I have never met such a strong supporter of the sovereignty and national interests of my own country as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán,“ Fico wrote on the social network X.
Orbán was also supported today by Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš. Among world politicians, US President Donald Trump has repeatedly expressed his support for his re-election.
