Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng met with French Finance Minister Roland Lescure in Paris on Monday, shortly after the conclusion of Sino-US economic and trade talks.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged detailed views on the current state of economic and financial cooperation between China and France as well as other issues of common interest. The discussion focused mainly on the possibilities for further development of bilateral relations in the changing global economic environment.

He Lifeng, who is on the Chinese side of the China-France high-level economic and financial dialogue, stressed China's readiness to further deepen cooperation with France. He said the aim is to expand exchanges in various fields and promote the stable and long-term development of bilateral economic relations.

At the request of the French side, He Lifeng also provided information on the progress and results of recent Sino-US economic and trade negotiations.

Roland Lescure, who is France's main representative in this dialogue, confirmed that France attaches great importance to relations with China. He expressed his willingness to further strengthen pragmatic cooperation in the economic and financial spheres and to seek concrete progress on other joint projects.
