Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Monday that China is ready to further strengthen bilateral and multilateral strategic coordination with Brazil. Xi Jinping made the statement during a phone call with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

According to the Chinese president, the building of a China-Brazil community with a shared future and the alignment of the two countries' development strategies have made positive progress in recent years. This cooperation, he said, has played an important role in supporting the development of China and Brazil, improving the living standards of their people, and at the same time contributed to greater stability in an uncertain international environment.

Xi Jinping recalled that this year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and is also the first year of the fifteenth five-year plan for the period 2026 to 2030. Brazil, he noted, also faces an important domestic political agenda.

China is therefore ready to further strengthen bilateral and multilateral strategic coordination with Brazil and maintain positive momentum in building a China-Brazil community with a shared future.

Xi Jinping stated that China and Brazil, as important members of the Global South, should in the face of new circumstances and challenges stand firmly on the right side of history and the progress of civilization.

Both countries should, according to him, play a more significant and constructive role in reforming and improving the global governance system and in promoting international justice and equity.

China and Brazil should also jointly support the high-quality development of broader cooperation within the BRICS group, set the right direction for this cooperation, maintain the momentum of unity and achieve more concrete results.

According to Xi Jinping, they could thus together open a new chapter of solidarity and self-reliance of the Global South.

China, he said, highly values Brazil's international standing and its significant influence. It supports Brazil in safeguarding its sovereignty and independence, in rejecting external interference, and in striving to contribute to the preservation of regional and global peace and stability.

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva stated that Brazil and China have made positive progress in building a community with a shared future for a more just world and a more sustainable planet.

Cooperation in various areas is, according to him, developing rapidly. Bilateral trade has reached a new record and a series of events held within the framework of the Brazil-China Year of Culture have further strengthened the social foundations of friendship between the peoples of both countries.

Lula da Silva said that Brazil is interested in strengthening cooperation with China in areas such as artificial intelligence, energy and mineral resources.

Brazil also welcomes further investment by Chinese enterprises, which could contribute to expanding bilateral cooperation and bring more concrete results.

The Brazilian president also congratulated China on the successful hosting of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in 2026. He highly praised Xi Jinping's vision of promoting open and inclusive international cooperation and global governance in the field of artificial intelligence.

Brazil is, according to Lula, ready to strengthen multilateral coordination with China, support the authority of the United Nations and develop solidarity and cooperation within the BRICS group.

At the same time, it wants to firmly defend multilateralism, reject power politics, promote the resolution of crisis issues through dialogue and consultations, and together with China safeguard international justice, world peace and stability.
