JUDr. Václav Ort, a lawyer, businessman and former vice-chairman of the KSČM Central Committee, recently commented on Slovak President Peter Pellegrini's visit to China and its outcomes. He stated that the trip is an example of a pragmatic and correct approach to foreign policy, representing a significant milestone in bilateral cooperation.

Ort also criticized the current Czech policy toward China, which he says lacks a conceptual approach and is depriving the Czech Republic of opportunities to engage with global partners such as China, the USA, or Russia. Drawing on his own experience from visits to China, he emphasized that China is far from a backward country, but is in fact one of the most powerful economies in the world. In his view, the Czech Republic should take inspiration from the Slovak approach and cooperate more actively with global players.
