Petra Prokšanová, a sociologist and member of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia, shared her experiences from a visit to the People's Republic of China on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. According to her, a personal stay in the country significantly influenced her view of how the Communist Party of China functions and its role in the daily lives of residents.
Prokšanová stated that during her visit, she had the opportunity to learn not only about large modern cities but also about smaller villages in their vicinity. It was there, according to her, that it was possible to observe firsthand how the Communist Party of China contributes to local development.
"I visited several small villages and noticed that their development is proceeding in a very similar way. A delegation from the Communist Party of China arrives in the village, establishes a local party organization, and together with the residents, they seek opportunities for further development. They focus, for example, on creating new economic opportunities or improving transportation links to surrounding cities. At the same time, they help local people develop their businesses and become involved in the broader economy," she described.
According to the sociologist, the results of this approach are then reflected in the lives of local communities. "Once the local economy begins to develop, municipalities can afford to invest in schools, healthcare centers, cultural centers, and other public infrastructure. This was my personal experience, and it made a very strong impression on me," she said.
Prokšanová is convinced that the Communist Party of China plays an important role not only in managing the country's economic development but also in developing culture, public services, and integrating national minorities. According to her, there is also an effort to strengthen national unity and a common identity among residents.
During her visit, she had the opportunity to speak with many members of the Communist Party of China. "It was clear that they were truly proud of their membership. They talked about the successes that their country has achieved, and it was evident that they consider the results of China's development to be a common success for all of society," she said.
Prokšanová herself is a member of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia and recalled that this year is also significant for the Czech communist movement, which commemorates 105 years since the founding of the Communist Party in the Czech lands.
"I would like to see further development of cooperation between the Czech Republic and China. It should not be limited only to contacts between communist parties but should continue at the level of both states, their institutions, and their citizens. I believe that our countries can offer each other many experiences, and that the development of partnership relations can benefit both sides," concluded Petra Prokšanová.
