China's industrial sector and information technology industry continued their stable growth in the first half of 2026. Key areas such as computing power, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and the export of technologically advanced products saw rapid development. This is according to information released on Monday at a press conference by the Information Office of the National People's Congress of China.
Computing power, considered a crucial resource in the era of the digital economy, has seen significant growth. By the end of June, China's intelligent computing capacity reached 2185 EFLOPS. This means that Chinese systems for artificial intelligence-related calculations can perform 2185 trillion floating-point operations per second.
The overall utilization rate of computing devices across the country reached 71.4 percent. There were already 52 intelligent computing centers in operation, each equipped with more than 10,000 AI accelerators.
China has also expanded its data transmission capacity. Over the past two years, more than 70 major data transmission lines for computing power have been built around national computing centers. This has improved network performance between major computing clusters by approximately ten percent.
The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that the country will continue to optimize the deployment of computing infrastructure, improve connectivity between devices, and increase the efficiency of resource utilization.
Meanwhile, China has developed more than 400 complete models of humanoid robots, representing more than half of the total number of such products worldwide. This achievement highlights the country's rapidly growing position in the robotics industry.
According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Chinese quadrupedal robots accounted for nearly 70 percent of their global sales in the first half of the year.
Global demand for artificial intelligence technologies and solutions for green transformation remains strong. The value of China's integrated circuit exports, measured in yuan, increased by 88.7 percent year-on-year in the first half of the year.
Exports of electronic components increased by 62.6 percent, and the value of wind turbine equipment exports rose by 35.6 percent.
