Artificial intelligence is set to become another significant area of cooperation between Russia and China. According to Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both countries intend to develop joint activities in the field of AI, alongside rapidly growing trade relations and coordination within international organizations.

Russia and China are planning to expand their cooperation into the area of artificial intelligence. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in an interview with the TASS agency during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

"A new area of cooperation has emerged, which is artificial intelligence," said Zakharova. According to her, China has created an international platform focused on cooperation in this field, and Russia supports the Chinese initiative. "Therefore, we will also cooperate in this sphere," added the Russian diplomat.

According to Moscow, artificial intelligence could be included among other areas in which Russia and China have been deepening their relations in recent years. Zakharova specifically highlighted the development of trade between the two countries.

According to data presented during the interview, the trade turnover between the two countries has exceeded $200 billion for the third year in a row. In the first half of this year, mutual trade increased by 18 percent and exceeded $130 billion.

"The dynamics are excellent," said Zakharova. In her opinion, this is not just a short-term market development or a reaction to individual economic changes. She described the current results as a result of long-term work and the fulfillment of goals set by the leadership of Russia and China.

The spokeswoman for Russian diplomacy also recalled that there are many mutual visits between the two countries, and further documents related to bilateral cooperation are being adopted. However, she did not go into detail about them, noting that the TASS agency regularly provides information on these matters.

According to Zakharova, Russia and China cooperate not only at the bilateral level but also on the international stage. She specifically mentioned the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the BRICS group.

The expansion of cooperation to include artificial intelligence represents another step in the long-term deepening of Russian-Chinese relations, which, in addition to politics and trade, are increasingly focused on modern technologies.
