Ivan Cinka, former chairman of the transport committee of the Central Bohemian Region for the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, and now a member of the Transport Committee for the Stačilo! coalition, strongly opposed what is called the "middle way" promoted by the group around the Dalai Lama.
Cinka stated that the rapid development of the People's Republic of China is causing concern among Western leaders, who are therefore seeking various ways to weaken China. According to Cinka, this is actually a plan to create a "Greater Tibetan territory" encompassing approximately one-quarter of China, even though such a territory has never existed in history. Cinka emphasized that the goal is to eliminate the socialist system and gradually separate Tibet under the rule of the Dalai Lama's entourage, as evidenced by demands for the withdrawal of the central army and the creation of a "buffer zone." He also criticized attempts to restrict the arrival of people from other nationalities, especially Han Chinese, including their possible expulsion, which he described as ethnic cleansing.
Cinka expressed his belief that Western countries will fully support these separatist intentions because China's socialist development poses too great a "threat" to them. He emphasized that China has every right to insist on the integrity of Tibet in the interests of its local inhabitants.
