Jana Volfová, the first vice-chair of the ČSSD (Czech Social Democratic Party), stated that if Karel Čapek were alive, he would certainly be invited to China for a conference on artificial intelligence.
She recalled that China, as one of the world's largest producers of AI, is fully aware of the risks associated with this technology, and therefore invites scientists, politicians, and other experts to guide its development in a way that it never harms humans. Volfová emphasized that Asimov's three laws of robotics must apply globally – not only in China but also in Europe.
At the same time, she praised the fact that China is not only concerned with its own security but also strives to spread the principles of safe AI to developing countries along with exports of motorcycles, cars, and railways. According to her, even a single uncontrolled outbreak could spiral out of control, as in Čapek's R.U.R., and destroy the entire world.
