CZECH REPUBLIC - Can't wait for the excellent grape must? The season of our unique product is approaching, and thanks to warm weather, the first kilograms of grapes are harvested unusually early. Wineries will produce this year's first burčák (grape must), which according to regulations may be sold from August 1st to November 30th. Now, the earliest varieties such as Augustovskij, Solaris, Irsai Oliver or Moravian Muscat are being harvested. They are sufficiently aromatic and therefore suitable precisely for producing burčák, which everyone who can't wait for new vintage wine looks forward to.
Winemakers not only in southern Moravia may start selling their first burčák of this year from August 1st, 2026. Partially fermented grape must is mostly produced from very early varieties. First appear at sales stands the partially fermented grape musts of Augustovskij and Irsai Oliver varieties. Then comes Muscat, which is the most common variety in burčák season. The last burčáks are made from Veltlíns. Among the first wineries that offer burčák every year are traditionally Vinařská pohotovost (Wine Service) sales outlet of Chateau Valtice – Wine Cellars in Valtice. For processing, it uses so-called flotation, during which sediments are removed from the must, improving both color and taste of burčák. Other than to its own stores, wineries do not supply burčák.
The first winemaker who starts selling his burčák is every year Mr. Miloslav Machuča from Valtice. It is precisely Mr. Machuča who focuses exclusively on producing burčák, which he offers from early August until the end of October. His stands are traditionally at three locations: near Valtice by Apollo campsite between Lednice and Břeclav, and by road I/52 close to Novomlýnské reservoirs. One of the first wineries in Znojmo region that traditionally offers burčák is Eliška Čeperová and Pavel Matouš Family Winery in Olbramovice. Burčák is produced from Solaris variety. The first kilograms of grapes are also being prepared for harvest by growers at vineyards in Dolní Dunajovice on Břeclav district. There, the Irsai Oliver variety is harvested, which is very aromatic and suitable precisely for burčák.
"Elderly milk" or rather burčák belongs to our unique products. We can still find it in limited areas of Austria and Slovakia, but nowhere has become such a popular part of late summer and early autumn as on Moravia or in Bohemia. Where will you taste burčák?
Wine and burčák from open cellars in Mikulčice
Mikulčice invite you to Saturday, August 22nd, 2026 for Open Cellars event where this year's burčák and good wine will be served. Visitors may visit and taste wines of local small winemakers at locations Těšické búdy (Těšík Bouda), Čertovka and in cellar alleys within the area near hunting lodge. Horse-drawn carriages, as every year, will facilitate moving between cellars, running in half-hour intervals from 11:00 to 19:00 hours. Regional specialties prepared by local gourmets will also be present. During the day, the winery museum complex will open and cimbalom music will play.

兰佩尔贝格是兹诺伊莫-布尔恰克库波帕蒂夫卡赛（Znojmo Burčák Tour Kooperativy）主赛道海拔最高的点之一，拥有俯瞰摩拉维亚与下奥地利交界处葡萄园美景的独特视野。这座位于捷克-奥地利边境耶切梅尼什采葡萄酒产区的小型城堡并非建于封建时代如远处看似那样，而是于 1860 年建成于该地最高的小山丘上。游客在此可欣赏南摩拉维亚地区令人惊叹的壮丽全景。这里有一座圆形塔楼，下方设有看守葡萄园以防椋鸟袭击的房间以及曾经的马厩。骑行者将环绕这座小城堡，穿过葡萄园并有机会在自助餐品尝当地美酒。
