MOSCOW, January 30. U.S. President Donald Trump has asked his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, to refrain from attacks on Kyiv until February 1st, "to create favorable conditions for negotiations," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
"President Trump personally asked Putin to refrain from attacks on Kyiv for one week, until February 1st, in order to create favorable conditions for negotiations," the Kremlin spokesman said.
Peskov did not specify whether Russia had responded to Trump's proposal to halt the attacks. "I have nothing to add to what I have already said," he concluded. Trump had previously stated that he had personally asked Putin to order Russian forces to cease attacks on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities for one week due to low temperatures. According to Trump, the Russian leader agreed to the request.
