China on Friday expressed strong disapproval of the United States' handling of the investigation into China's shipping, logistics and maritime sectors.
A spokesman for China's Ministry of Commerce said China has repeatedly reiterated its stance on the §301 investigation and handed the US a document with reservations, urging Washington not to hold China responsible for its domestic industrial problems.
According to the spokesman, this is a typical example of unilateralism and protectionism that seriously harms the rights of Chinese companies, disrupts global supply chains, violates WTO rules and undermines the international trade order.
China called on the US to respect facts and multilateralism and threatened to closely monitor the situation and take the necessary measures to protect its legitimate interests.
