At the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions in Beijing, President Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, expressed his sincere greetings to workers of all ethnic groups and professions.
Xi Jinping paid tribute to the revolutionaries and trade union leaders who have contributed to the development of the movement, and thanked workers, peasants, intellectuals and other workers all over China. He also extended special greetings to trade union organisations and workers from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
In his speech, he expressed his congratulations to the honorees National Model Workers and Advanced Workers and added his best wishes to workers and trade unionists around the world.
Xi stressed the importance of work and solidarity as the foundations of China's development and common prosperity.
