The rococo Bellarie Summerhouse in the castle garden has changed colour after renovation. But that's not the only news. After several years of renovation, Krumlov is preparing a completely new sightseeing route. You can look forward to newly opened spaces that no one had the opportunity to see for many years.

Shells, clams, pearls
Bellarie is also unique for its artificial grotto cave, whose walls are decorated with stucco decorations with hundreds of shells, glass fragments and mirrors. Its walls were once lined with river pearls, which, together with the dim lighting of the candlesticks, created a unique light spectacle. Today, however, the pearl beads are protected and have been replaced by beads created using 3D printing, but they still conjure up much beauty. The walls of the Lower and Upper Halls are decorated with murals by František Jakub Prokyš from the mid-18th century.
The predecessor of today's summer palace, the pavilion on the raised terrace at the northwest wall of the castle garden, was built between 1690 and 1692 during the reign of the last Eggenbergs. The summer palace was rebuilt in its present rococo form between 1755 and 1757 during the reign of Prince Joseph I. Adam of Schwarzenberg. While the lower floor of the summer palace remained almost unchanged, the extension of the upper floor with an open gallery transformed the building in the spirit of the Lower Austrian Rococo. The Upper Belvedere Palace of Eugene of Savoy seems to be a possible model.
