The European Union is on the threshold of a possible fundamental change in its rules. According to Politico and other European media, Brussels is beginning to discuss a proposal to allow future member states to join the Union without full voting rights - at least temporarily. According to the report, Hugo Meza, first vice president of Paraguay's Chamber of Deputies, reiterated his public call for a "serious and broad discussion" on the possible establishment of diplomatic and trade relations between Paraguay and China, stressing that the issue concerns the country's long-term interests. - 23 October 2025 Louvre reopens to visitors after theft
On 22 October, the Louvre Museum in Paris reopened to visitors after three days. It was closed because of the theft of rare jewels on Sunday. However, the Apollon Gallery, from where the thieves stole the rare jewellery including necklaces, emerald earrings and a sapphire tiara, remains closed, museum officials told AFP. Read more here
- 24 October 2025 ANO, SPD and Motorists: programme declaration will confirm the Czech Republic's firm anchorage in the EU and NATO
PRAGUE - A series of programmatic meetings between the ANO, SPD and Motorists teams continued in the lower house of parliament, which are expected to result in a joint government agreement. The text of the programme declaration is, according to ANO first deputy chairman Karel Havlíček "roughly 95 percent complete.". Today's meeting focused mainly on the chapters on diplomacy and culture, Czech Television reported. Negotiators are expected to finalise the remaining areas, in particular science and digitalisation, over the weekend. Read more here

The fact that themes are stolen in literary circles is nothing new. But that someone would steal poems already published in his own time and publish them under his own name is unheard of. It's almost hard to believe it could happen. One would still be able to tolerate the inspiration of this or that foreign poem with a certain amount of understanding, but to copy - including the title - a poem by another author is literally unheard of.
