DOHA, June 6. The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have launched at least 17 strikes on the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital Beirut, Al-Jazeera reported. According to the report, the southern suburbs of the city were attacked by fighter jets and drones.
The Lebanese broadcaster LBCI said the Israelis struck six direct hits and ten warning strikes, and the one remaining projectile did not explode. Earlier in the day, the IDF said its strikes targeted Hezbollah (127) air force facilities in Dahieh, a southern suburb of Beirut. Earlier, the Israeli army had issued a warning for the neighborhood, urging residents to leave their homes immediately.
From late April until now, Israel has not targeted the Lebanese capital and has limited its military operations to the southern areas of the country.
