FireGold organized a conference called "The Golden Digital Revolution 2024," which took place on Sunday, October 19, at the cinema Dlabačov in Prague. The main theme of the event was the linking of traditional values of investing in physical gold with modern digital technologies. One of the main speakers was Robert Vlášek, who in his opening speech introduced the concepts of safe investment in gold, and responded to the current challenges in this area.
Other speakers included Marián Jelínek, who spoke about psychology and strategic thinking in investments, and Markéta Šichtařová, a well-known economist, who focused on current economic trends and their impact on the future of gold as a safe haven. Conference participants also learned about an innovative payment system backed by physical gold. The event included a raffle where attendees could win gold bars and silver coins.
Firegold has been working with its parent company IBIS InGold for several years to create the infrastructure for a gold payment system - InGoldPay - covered with gold ingots from the Swiss company PAMP. InGoldPay thus effectively returns the gold standard to the payment system.
In the first phase of development, savings accounts for private individuals were created in 2020, through which clients gradually buy grams of 1kg PAMP gold bars. They can exchange the saved grams at any time for physical bars of different weights or sell the grams and have the money paid into a bank account within 24 hours with a minimum 4% spread, or send a portion of the purchased grams to a third party gold account under a non-bank private gold account system, effectively paying in gold.
In the second phase of development, gold accounts were made available to individuals and corporations in 2024. They can finally save into large PAMP gold bars weighing 400 ounces (just under 12.42 kg), but more importantly, they can accept payments for their goods and services in gold from end and corporate customers. The gold accounts come with an app and a payment terminal that allows them to receive and record payments similar to what merchants are used to with card terminals. In addition, InGoldPay rewards every payment in gold that comes into a business account with a bonus of 0.5%!
In the third phase in 2025, e-shops will be connected to the gold payment system.
