The Chinese polar icebreaker Xuelong, which took part in China's 42nd scientific expedition to Antarctica, set sail on Saturday for Lyttelton Harbour in New Zealand after completing its tasks at Qinling Station.
During the Xuelong icebreaker's operations at Qinling Station, 38 team members were transported to the station and 11 team members returned to the ship. The icebreaker successfully unloaded approximately 1,450 tonnes of scientific equipment, logistical supplies, technical materials and fuel. Approximately 500 tonnes of construction waste and other materials were transported back to the ship from the station.
As part of its scientific activities at the station, the vessel also conducted aerial photography and oceanographic mapping.
