Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, called on senior Party leaders to take on new responsibilities and launch new measures in China's modernisation.
His statement came after he studied the annual working reports submitted by senior party officials To the CPC Central Committee and the Secretary-General. These included members of the Politburo and CPC Secretariat, leaders Standing Committee of the All-China People's Congress, the State Council and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conferenceas well as the secretaries Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate.
Xi stressed that the year 2025 is the last year 14th Five Year Plan (2021-2025) and a key period for further deepening reforms. He called for consistent implementation of CPC policies, achieving the set objectives with high quality and creating a solid foundation for a successful start 15th Five Year Plan (2026-2030).
He also appealed for a calm response to domestic and international challenges, speeding up the creation the new economic model, deepening reforms, expanding the opening up of the economy and support sustainable economic growth.
Xi also stressed the importance of research and analysis, strict adherence to of the CPC's eight-point decision on improving work style and a responsible approach to Party and government management.
