Astronauts of the Shenzhou-19 mission are continuing scientific experiments and tasks aboard the Chinese Space Station, the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) announced.
On Sunday, CMSA released a video of the astronauts Cai Xuzhe, Song Lingdong and Wang Haoze captured while working in the main module Tianhewhere they have been staying for almost four months.
The crew is researching the effects of motion on muscles and bones in space. They collect data on foot pressure, joint motion and muscle parameters during running and resistance exercise under different loading conditions. This information will help to better understand changes in muscle-tendon interaction during spaceflight.
The astronauts also performed ultrasound examination of blood vessels to study blood flow in a weightless environment. By collecting data on vascular structures, hemodynamics and functional parameters of various organs, scientists are investigating how microgravity affects blood flow.
Other experiments focus on changes in vision during a long stay in space. Using advanced equipment, the astronauts underwent a series of eye tests, the results of which will be used to develop strategies to protect the astronauts' eyesight.
In addition to biomedical research, the crew worked on physical experiments - reconfigured equipment in the fluid physics module and replaced the combustion burner in the experimental combustion research facility.
The astronauts also trained docking and docking manoeuvres and performed maintenance on key experimental equipment and vital support systems.
Crew Shenzhou-19 boarded the space station on October 30 last year on a six-month missionduring which they are to perform 86 scientific and technological experimentsas announced before the start.
