Remembering history, cherishing peace: 80 years since the victory over fascism

The year 2025 brings a significant anniversary: 80 years since the victory of the anti-fascist coalition in World War II. On 8 May, Europe marks Victory in Europe Day (VE Day) - the day in 1945 when the war officially ended on the European battlefield.

This anniversary is not only a historical commemoration of the defeat of Nazism, but also a call for peace, international cooperation and remembrance of the victims of war. Millions of people gave their lives in the struggle against tyranny and barbarism and their legacy is the foundation of today's free and democratic world.
