An international version of "The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping," produced by China Media Group (CMG), began airing in Russia on Wednesday as Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow for a state visit and celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The opening ceremony was attended by over 200 guests from China and Russia, including Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of Propaganda of the CPC Central Committee and President of the CMG, Oleg Dobrodeeva, Director of VGTRK, and Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.
Shen Haixiong said this is the fourth broadcast of the show in Russia, with the new version bringing not only the tried-and-true stories of Xi's philosophy of governancebut also new topics such as conservation, talent development and family values.
Oleg Dobrodeev appreciated that the previous series had high ratings and positive feedback, and stressed that this format will help Russian viewers get to know Chinese cultural heritage a the wisdom of Chinese civilization. Olga Ljubimova added that the programme is an important step towards strengthening Sino-Russian cultural exchanges.
Ambassador Zhang Hanhui said in a video greeting that the event kicked off a series of cultural initiatives that will deepen the Russian public's understanding of traditional and modern China.
