China has announced the imposition of additional tariffs on some products imported from the United States, which will take effect on March 10, the State Council's Customs and Tax Commission said.
According to the statement, the chicken, wheat, corn and cotton from the USA imposed 15% additional duty. Products such as sorghum, soya, pork and beef, fish, fruit, vegetables and dairy products will be burdened 10% surcharge.
The announcement comes in response to additional 10% dutythat the United States imposed on Chinese goods effective from 4 March. China in a statement criticised the US tariffs as unilateral measures that undermine the international trading system, raising costs for US companies and undermining trade cooperation between the two countries.
At the same time, China has included 10 American companies at list of unreliable entities, including TCOM, Limited Partnershipand forbade them trade with China and new investments in the country.
According to Ministry of Trade the decision was taken to protect national sovereignty, security and development interests China in accordance with applicable laws.
