Kyrgyzstan's President Sadyr Japarov met with Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, in Bishkek.
Zaparov asked Wang Yi to convey his warm regards to President Xi Jinping. Relations between Kyrgyzstan and China have entered the best period in history. Kyrgyzstan is willing to maintain close high-level contacts with China, expand trade volume and make progress in the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
Further strengthen cooperation in key sectors such as civil aviation, logistics and ports, with the aim of improving connectivity, strengthening security cooperation, combating the „three forces“ and comprehensively developing a comprehensive strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and China in the new era.
The Kyrgyz side highly appreciates and supports the four major global initiatives put forward by President Xi Jinping. It is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with China within the United Nations and the China-Central Asia mechanism. It hopes that China will support Kyrgyzstan in its role as rotating chair of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and will work with it to promote regional security, stability, prosperity and development.
Wang Yi conveyed President Xi Jinping's warm greetings to Zaparov and said that diplomacy between the two heads of state plays an irreplaceable leading role in the development of bilateral relations. China will continue to support Kyrgyzstan in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and in pursuing a development path that suits its national conditions. We oppose any external interference in Kyrgyzstan's internal affairs.
China is ready to work with Kyrgyzstan on the basis of the consensus reached by our two heads of state to translate our cooperation plan into concrete actions. Together, we will take great strides towards modernising our countries and continuously enrich the essence of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Kyrgyzstan for a new era.
