Mohammad Eslami, chairman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, commented on speculation about the possible removal of enriched uranium from Iran. According to him, these allegations come mainly from foreign parties and pressure groups and are not part of the official negotiations at all. Some proposals for „assistance“ were made but not formally discussed during the negotiations.
Eslami added that Iran continues to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at the facilities, which have not been attacked. IAEA inspectors have participated in inspections with the approval of the Supreme National Security Council, and so far all facilities have been inspected and monitored after the conflict. With only a few final inspections to be completed in the near future, Iran continues to cooperate under the safeguards system.
On the issue of dilution of 60% enriched uranium and related conditions, Eslami said their implementation will depend on the comprehensive lifting of sanctions against Iran.
