According to a report from North Korea, on 18 December, Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, received congratulatory messages from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In his report, Putin stated that thanks to the joint efforts of both sides, each provision of the historic Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement had been systematically implemented, contributing to a significant expansion of bilateral cooperation in political, economic, trade, interpersonal and other areas.
Putin stated that Russia and North Korea will continue to strengthen their friendly and allied relations and promote constructive cooperation on regional and international issues.
