The crew of the Shenzhou-20 mission successfully entered the Chinese space station and met with their Shenzhou-19 colleagues, marking the beginning of a new phase of handover in space. According to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA), the Shenzhou-19 crew opened the hatch at 1:17 a.m. Beijing time and welcomed the new arrivals.
The six astronauts then took a photo together, creating a historic photograph of the sixth space rendezvous in Chinese history.
During the following five days the crews will work together to complete tasks and hand over responsibilities. Shenzhou-19 crew is scheduled to return to the landing site on April 29 Dongfeng in northern China, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
