Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, called on China and the United States to expand the list of areas of cooperation while shortening the list of issues. The meeting took place on Tuesday, 9 December 2025, in Beijing with Craig Allen, senior adviser to the Cohen Group.
He Lifeng recalled that the presidents of China and the United States had spoken on the phone several times and held a successful meeting in Busan, during which they reached a series of important agreements. Under the strategic leadership of both presidents, both sides should continue in the right direction, maintain the pace of cooperation, expand the list of cooperation and reduce the list of problems.
The Deputy Prime Minister also stated that with the first year approaching 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) China will continue to open its market to a high standard and welcome more American companies to invest and do business in China, with the aim of promoting stable, healthy and sustainable development of economic and trade relations between China and the US.
Craig Allen gave a positive assessment of the results of the meeting between the presidents and expressed his readiness to act as a bridge between the two sides and to continue to support deeper economic and trade cooperation between the US and China.
