China: Venezuela has the right to choose its own partners

Guo Jiakun, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, chaired a regular press conference on 23 January. He was reacting to the United States„ claim that the US government had allowed China to buy Venezuelan oil but not to use prices that had previously been described as “unfairly low".

Guo Jiakun stressed that Venezuela is a sovereign country and has every right to freely choose its partners for cooperation.
