Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a key driver of China's high-end growth. This was confirmed by leading experts at the Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference 2025, which runs from 27-31 March in Beijing. AI is making significant contributions to the development of smart manufacturing, green transformation and space exploration.
According to Kai-Fu Lee's, CEO of 01.AI, 2025 will be the first year of mass adoption of AI in practice. Big language models are said to be changing productivity and creating a new era of "AI terminals".
The forum also showed the connection between AI and electromobility. For example, a company Li Auto has unveiled its intelligent autonomous driving system that handles complex manoeuvres in the city and on the highway without driver intervention.
They also attracted a lot of attention humanoid robots, such as a robot Adamwho amazed the visitors with his dance thanks to his advanced coordination of movements. Experts say robots are entering an "era of productivity" and will be valuable helpers in manufacturing and services.
In this year's Labour report, the government declared its support for the widespread deployment of AI, including intelligent vehicles, robotics and connected manufacturing systems. In addition, AI also plays an important role in integration of renewable energy sources into the energy network and in intelligent energy management.
AI will be key in the future space exploration. It will enable intelligent control of probes for long-distance missions to Mars and Jupiter, where human astronauts cannot yet face extreme conditions.
