President Xi Jinping on Sunday sent a congratulatory letter on the opening of the 20th Western China International Fair, which began in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province.
In his message, Xi stressed that this year's fair focuses on expanding a high level of openness, deepening regional cooperation and developing a modern industrial system.
According to him, the event serves as an effective platformthat allows countries from all over the world share the opportunities associated with the development of western China and at the same time Strengthen quality cooperation within the Belt and Road Initiative.
"Unity brings common success, cooperation leads to progress," Xi said, expressing China's willingness to seize this opportunity to strengthening mutual understanding, friendship and deeper cooperation with international partners.
Xi also assured that China will continue to promote multilateralism, protect the stability and continuity of global industrial and supply chains and thus contribute to global economic growth.
The fair is held under the motto "Deepen Reform for More Momentum, Expand Openness for Greater Growth" hosted by the People's Government of Sichuan Province. The event attracts business delegations, investors and institutions from many countries seeking new opportunities in one of China's fastest growing regions.
The Western China International Fair thus confirms its importance as a gateway to international cooperation, regional modernisation and shared global progress.
