Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Abdalmaǧīd Tebboune of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria exchanged congratulatory telegrams on 31 January on the occasion of the successful launch of Algeria's Alsat-3 remote-sensing satellite from the Jiuquan spaceport in China.
Xi Jinping, in his message, described the Alsat-3 project as another major achievement of Sino-Algerian cooperation in the field of space, building on the Alsat-1 communications satellite. He stressed that this is a concrete manifestation of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. According to him, bilateral relations have been developing dynamically in recent years, political trust has been strengthened and practical cooperation has yielded tangible results. China is ready to further deepen these relations to the benefit of both nations.
In his reply, President Tebboune said that the successful launch of the Alsat-3 satellite represented not only another result of joint space cooperation with China, but also a new milestone in the development of bilateral relations. He said Algeria was ready to continue its efforts to further expand and deepen its comprehensive strategic partnership with China.
