At a regular press conference, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun commented on the recent visits to China by prominent European leaders – the King of Spain, the President of France and the German Foreign Minister. Journalists asked whether these visits signalled a change in Europe's attitude towards China.
According to Guo Jiakun, communication between China and European countries has intensified and deepened significantly this year. Senior representatives from both sides have reached a number of important agreements that provide strategic direction for the further development of mutual relations and the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation.
The spokesperson also pointed out that the international environment is becoming increasingly unstable. That is why, according to him, strengthening strategic communication and cooperation between China and Europe is important not only for both sides, but also for the stability of the whole world.
According to him, China is ready to work with its European partners to implement the agreements reached, strengthen unity and cooperation, and promote the healthy and stable development of China-Europe relations.
