Wang Zhihua, head of the Foreign Trade Department of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, said that in 2025, China and the US, under the strategic guidance of the heads of state of the two countries, held five rounds of trade talks in the spirit of equality, mutual respect and mutual benefits. These talks have produced a number of positive results and proved that the two countries can solve their trade problems through equal dialogue and consultation.
Following the Busan Heads of State meeting, communication continued at all levels through the China-US Trade Consultation Mechanism. The two sides jointly support the implementation of the important agreements reached at the Busan meetings and the results of the Kuala Lumpur trade consultations.
Wang Zhihua stressed that China and the US will continue to act according to the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation. The two countries will focus on upholding and enforcing heads of state agreements, making effective use of the trade negotiation mechanism, controlling differences and promoting cooperation, with a view to ensuring the stable, sound and sustainable development of mutual trade relations.
