The United States has seriously undermined the consensus reached during the Sino-US economic and trade talks in Geneva by successively introducing several discriminatory restrictive measures against China, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said on Monday.
According to a ministry spokesman, these measures include issuing a directive on export controls for AI chips, halting the sale of chip design software to China, and announcing the cancellation of visas for Chinese students.
According to the spokesman, these measures seriously violated the consensus reached during the telephone call between the two heads of state on 17 January and seriously damaged China's legitimate rights and interests.
In his view, the United States is unilaterally and repeatedly creating new economic and trade frictions, further increasing uncertainty and instability in mutual economic and trade relations.
