The People's Republic of China, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan believe that the comprehensive strengthening of good neighbourliness and friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation is in accordance with the fundamental interests of the people of all countries.
They pointed out that safeguarding the peace, stability and development of their region and strengthening comprehensive coordination are in line with the common will and fundamental interest of the people of all countries, are of important significance to Asia and the world. They also reiterated that the purpose of the UN Charter and other recognized principles and rules of international law should be strictly adhered to.
On the basis of the laws of their countries, they reiterated that they would firmly uphold the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity of all countries and the principle of sovereign equality and inviolability of borders, and would work to maintain the stable development of the relations of the six countries and raise the level of cooperation in all fields.
The countries are also willing to deepen and continue their friendship from generation to generation, and reiterated their resolve to build a closer China-Central Asia Community together. Thus, on the basis of these facts, the two countries concluded the Treaty of Permanent Good Neighborliness and Friendship.
