PPF Real Estate, part of the Renáta Kellner group, is acquiring real estate projects near the O2 Arena in Prague. At the same time, PPF is ending its investment in the German television group ProSiebenSat.1 and offering almost a 16 percent stake for sale. The Prague Stock Exchange weakened by nearly one percent on Tuesday, mainly due to declines in ČEZ, Komerční banka, and Moneta. The Chamber of Deputies approved EET 2.0, and the government is preparing regulations to restrict loan sharks' access to debtors' properties.
PPF Real Estate, part of the PPF group owned by Renáta Kellner, is acquiring from the Kaprain group, owned by businessman Karel Pražák, a group of companies that own planned real estate projects near the O2 Arena in Prague. The Czech Competition Authority is assessing the transaction and announced this on its website today.
The PPF Group is also ending its investment in the German television company ProSiebenSat.1. It has offered almost 15.7 percent of the basic capital of the German company for sale, according to Novinky.cz. PPF invested in ProSiebenSat.1 in 2019 and has repeatedly been mentioned in recent years as a potential bidder for control of the entire group.
The Prague Stock Exchange weakened on Tuesday. The PX index fell by 0.99 percent to 2,694.33 points. The decline was mainly due to lower prices for shares in the energy company ČEZ, Komerční banka, and Moneta Bank.
The Chamber of Deputies approved the introduction of electronic sales records 2.0, overriding opposition from the Senate. The Ministry of Finance is now launching a roadshow across the Czech Republic to explain the new rules to businesses. An information website eet.gov.cz and a hotline for businesses have also been launched.
The government is preparing regulations to prevent loan sharks from accessing the properties of their clients. The planned amendment aims to significantly tighten the conditions under which non-bank lenders can proceed with foreclosures on debtors' properties—in particular, owners of their sole residence should now be protected.
