Xi Jinping responds to a delegation of American youth in an educational exchange

On January 7, Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a response to a letter from a delegation of American youth including teachers and students from the Diamond Minds Transformational Leadership Academy in Miami, the University of Florida, and Miami-Dade College.

In his reply, Xi expressed his pleasure that the teachers and students had a pleasant and fruitful trip in China and that they showed their strong interest and sincere relationship with Chinese culture. The President stressed that the hope of Sino-US relations lies in the people and their future depends on the youth. Since the launch of the initiative „50,000 in five years“ more than 40,000 American young people actively participated, allowing them to experience the real China and create a bridge to strengthen the friendship between the two nations.

Xi Jinping said that this initiative clearly shows that promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation is a common desire of the people of China and the United States. He also expressed his expectation that more American youth will join in this effort to become a new generation of ambassadors of friendship between the two countries and contribute to deepening people-to-people exchanges and the development of bilateral relations.

In a letter to President Xi, the U.S. youth delegation recently reviewed their visit to China in October 2025 and thanked the initiative „50,000 in five years“, which provided a valuable opportunity for better mutual understanding between the youth of both countries.
