Important partners from the tourism, public and private sectors signed a memorandum of cooperation on the KCD Live project. The project connects the video game phenomenon Kingdom Come: Deliverance II with real tourist experiences. This initiative will create a comprehensive range of themed tours and activities for domestic and international visitors who want to discover authentic historical sites familiar from the popular play.

From gaming legend to tourist phenomenon
By signing the memorandum, municipalities, associations supporting tourism, state organizations and agencies, as well as private operators joined forces to jointly exploit the potential that the game Kingdom Come: Deliverance II offers. The Czech gaming legend from Warhorse Studios faithfully captures the atmosphere of the Czech lands at the beginning of the 15th century and the two main locations play a significant role:
- Kutná Hora and its surroundings - in the Middle Ages the second most important town in Bohemia, the centre of silver mining and coinage.
- Bohemian Paradise - a landscape full of rock towns and castles, including iconic Debris.
"Taking into account the fact that this is the most successful Czech computer game, which is also gaining considerable success abroad, it is very likely that the interest of domestic and foreign 'players' to see with their own eyes the places where Henry of Skalice lives his adventures will grow significantly," says the director of the Czech Tourism Centre - CzechTourism Frantisek Reismüller and adds: "Authentic Kingdom Come atmosphere: Deliverance II is a fantastic way to introduce the Czech Republic to the world. Not only iconic places, but also lesser-known historical locations can attract new visitors and offer them a unique experience. The cooperation with KCD Live will allow us to connect the game world with real tourism and inspire people to discover Czech history directly at the locations."

The game world as a ticket to medieval Bohemia
CzechTourism already supports the connection of tourism with the phenomenon Kingdom Come: Deliverance II via a special section on the portal Which way out of boredom and communication channels on social networks. Foreign tourists can find tips for exploring (not only) medieval Bohemia on VisitCzechia website. Information about the game and the opportunity to get to know the places where it takes place in real life is also communicated by colleagues from CzechTourism's foreign representations. As part of the year-long promotion of inbound tourism, an online search campaign is running on Google focusing on neighbouring countries (Slovakia, Poland, Germany, Austria) and more distant markets such as the UK, Hungary and Switzerland. One of the main attractions is the theme of Kingdom Come: Deliverancewhich invites tourists to discover Czech places associated with this popular game.

KCD Live: from game map to reality
The KCD Live project was initiated by the operators of tourist destinations who responded to the growing interest of players in places connected to the game's story. The new web portal is the central platform for information on tourist routes, thematic tours and interactive experiences inspired by the game. www.kcdlive.eu.
"Players want to experience places from the game first-hand. KCD Live offers them the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Henry of Skalice, visit real locations and experience the adventure in an authentic setting. The experience with the first part showed that the game attracted thousands of tourists to places they know from the virtual world. Now, thanks to coordinated cooperation, we can offer them a comprehensive experience," explains the project coordinator KCD Live Ondřej Slačálek.

Kutná Hora and its surroundings: the new epicentre of gaming tourism
One of the main points of interest of the project is Kutná Hora, which in the second part of Kingdom Come: Deliverance becomes a key location. The city and the surrounding regions are expecting an increased influx of tourists not only from the Czech Republic but also from abroad.
"Kutná Hora is one of the main places where the story of Kingdom Come takes place: Deliverance II. We expect increased tourist interest not only in our town, but also in other medieval monuments in the region. KCD Live will help us to effectively exploit this potential and offer visitors unique thematic experiences," concludes the director Central Bohemian Tourist Board Jakub Kulhánek.
The KCD Live project opens up new opportunities to present the Czech Republic as a unique destination for cultural and experiential tourism through the modern gaming phenomenon.
