The Czech Labour Office will publish official statistics on developments unemployment for November 2025. Analysts predict that the unemployment rate in Czechia will have risen further from October's 4.6% to approximately 4.7%. Foreign investment
The most significant corporate transaction in recent days remains the ongoing sale process of the group. ČSA – Czech Airlines, which, through a holding structure, owns an air carrier Smartwings. Turkish low-cost airline has reached the final stage of negotiations. Pegasus Airlines, which was supposed to submit the most economically advantageous bid. The Polish carrier had been the favourite up to that point. LOT Polish Airlines, whose negotiations have been described as very advanced in recent weeks. The acquisition of Smartwings would represent a significant change in the Central European aviation market and would also affect operations at Prague Airport.
Technology giant IBM is in advanced negotiations to acquire the company Confluent, which specialises in real-time data processing platforms. According to available data, the transaction value is around $11 billion. This move would significantly strengthen IBM's position in cloud services, data infrastructure and artificial intelligence.
Another significant expansion transaction is the entry of the company Robinhood Markets into the Indonesian financial market through the acquisition of a local brokerage firm Buana Capital Securities and a follow-up licence for trading in digital assets. This transaction confirms the continuing pressure from global fintech companies to expand into the rapidly growing markets of Southeast Asia.

European Commission According to Reuters, the EU could publish a package of measures to support the automotive industry on 16 December. It is expected to include a milder version of the originally planned ban on combustion engines from 2035. This step is intended to respond to the deteriorating economic situation of European manufacturers, the slowing transition to electromobility and growing competition from Asia.
At the same time, the German automotive group Volkswagen, which also includes Czech Skoda Auto, announced an investment plan for the period up to 2030 totalling approximately €160 billion, which represents a significant reduction. These funds are to be directed towards the development of electric vehicles, the digitalisation of production, the modernisation of plants and new software platforms. The scope of the group's investments Volkswagen will have a direct impact on the Czech automotive industry, export performance and the extensive network of domestic subcontractors.
