MOSCOW, 15 May. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree extending Russia's defence plan for the period 2021-2025 by two years. "The words '2021-2025' are replaced by the words '2021-2027′," the decree reads. The 2021-2025 defense plan was presented on November 12, 2020.
Russia's first ever defence plan was approved in January 2013. It sets out potential risks and threats to the country's security and coordinates measures in such crucial areas as the development of the armed forces and the implementation of armaments programmes and preparations for military mobilisation and territorial defence.
